Introduction

The video addresses the challenges faced by BMS students, particularly those who may not have initially been interested in the course or who struggle with the new syllabus and language barriers. It aims to provide solutions and guidance to help students manage their BMS journey effectively. The speaker, Kritika Pandey, a final year BMS student, shares pro tips and discusses common struggles.

Managing the Overwhelming Syllabus

The BMS syllabus introduces many new subjects unfamiliar from NEET preparation, such as Ashtang Hridya and Sanskrit. The speaker suggests utilizing the first year to the fullest by watching available videos and focusing on time management. Balancing studies with college life and enjoyment is crucial to avoid burnout. Prioritizing is key, especially for those preparing for NEET alongside BMS, advising a focused approach on either preparation or enjoying BMS. Productive techniques like the Pomodoro method (25 minutes of study followed by a 5-minute break) can be helpful.

Balancing Modern and Ayurveda

Balancing modern and Ayurvedic subjects is a significant challenge. The speaker advises developing a strong conceptual understanding of modern subjects from the beginning and relating them to Ayurvedic concepts like Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Attending good lectures, such as those offered by R.A.C.S. Medical Academy, can greatly aid in concept building for subjects like Physiology, Anatomy, Pharmacology, Pathology, Gynecology, Pediatric surgery, and ENT. Clinical classes are also beneficial for improving clinical knowledge.

Overcoming the Language Barrier

The language barrier, particularly with Sanskrit and Hindi terminology, is a persistent challenge throughout the BMS course. The speaker recommends asking for help with pronunciation, creating mnemonics for memorizing shlokas, and understanding the meanings of the verses through translations. Joining Sanskrit classes can also provide a strong foundation in the language.

Staying Motivated

Staying motivated is essential for success in BMS. The speaker advises unsubscribing from channels that promote repeated NEET attempts if one has committed to BMS. It's important to accept the new journey and focus on what is right for the individual at this point in time.

Seeking Guidance

Lack of guidance is a common issue in BMS. The speaker encourages students to interact with seniors and seek help, even if it means facing occasional scolding. She also offers her assistance to students facing genuine problems in their BMS journey, encouraging them to reach out via DM.

0:00 If you are a BMS student, then many times you must have felt that so much of the syllabus is new, there are many things that we are seeing for the first time and at the time of NEET, many children never have interest in BMS. We either opt for BMS because many of our subjects have dropped or we take it because we have to explore some other course. Very few children choose this course out of interest, so after coming here, things become very difficult, we have to face the language barrier, many times we have to read the Sanskrit terms which we have not heard, we have to memorize the shlokas and there is no one to guide us, we have to face many such problems in the initial days, in the initial first year or in the second year. Till now there were many problems, but after today's video, many of your problems are going to be solved. Hi everyone, welcome back to the

0:45 channel. I am Kritika Pandey, BMS final year student and in today's video we are Going to talk about how you can manage your BMS like a pro and in this video we will not only talk about some pro tips but also about struggles. Before this I had made another video in which I told you about the survival guide, so go and watch that video too. So without wasting your time let's just quickly get into it. [Music] It's okay, so first of all let's talk about our overwhelming syllabus which never ends. A lot of new subjects come in your life which you have never heard of before. At the time of NEET, we had to cover only three books Physics, Chemistry and Biology and after coming here suddenly you have to read Ashtang Hridya. You have to read Sanskrit, Material Science. We have never tackled these in life. I do n't think anyone has ever studied these subjects. And now you will see that

1:32 we don't even know basic Sanskrit. Now in schools very few children opt for Sanskrit. Children who have studied in Hindi medium have to study Sanskrit. The basics are good but maximum children are from English medium nowadays, so it becomes very difficult for them to tackle Sanskrit. If I give you a solution for this, then first of all you will find videos of 2 years on YouTube, so start watching them and let me tell you that you should utilize the maximum portion of your first year, then it can be a game changer, you will find a lot of things there, when you

2:29 enter [music] MS, there is a lot to study, apart from this we have to explore college, make friends and enjoy the first year as well, so we should not get so involved in all these things and stop enjoying them, so we should be good at time management and college is all about managing your time because I feel that if you become a nerd from the beginning and focus only on studies, then college will also become boring and you only get college to enjoy because after this you will start working and then later you will have a family, so the responsibility of this will definitely come on you. After all I think that you can enjoy as much as you can in college if nothing happens in your college, no fests are organised because colleges exist like this, even in my college many fests etc are not organised, apart from freshers and farewell and some seminars etc. so if

3:17 your college is like this then you should find sources of enjoyment on your own, take small trips with your friends and wherever your college is there will be some places near you where you can go for a walk on a low budget, apart from this you have to start from the very basics and one thing I want to tell you is that keep your priorities clear, if you are preparing for NEET along with BMS and I am sure some kids will be doing it, so you should make your priorities clear from before that if you have to prepare for NEET then you do not have to get involved in college, from day one you have to prepare for NEET only as you say that You can sail on board, so this is a very correct thing, either do preparation or enjoy BMS, both things cannot be done because the syllabus of BMS is very huge, you can try some productive techniques in which you can

4:03 study for 25 minutes, follow by a five minute break, after that you can keep a study session of 25 minutes, so these are some techniques that will work for you if you are not enjoying Sanskrit in the beginning or you are not liking the subjects of BMS [Music] then the next very difficult thing is how to balance modern and Ayurveda, I have already made a video on modern medical subjects, which will be very helpful for you, so go and watch it, if you cram into modern, it will become very difficult for you, it is better that you develop the concept from the beginning itself and in Ayurveda you have to balance both the things, do not consider both as different entities, try to relate them. Understand things like Vata, Pat, Kapha in depth.

4:48 Many times in BMS we start focusing so much on Ayurveda that our modern knowledge becomes weak and if we have to develop modern concepts properly then the best resource for that is to attend good lectures because lectures help a lot in concept building and if you want to attend good lectures then you can join R.A.C.S. Medical Academy where you get live and recorded lectures of all modern subjects like Physiology and Anatomy in first prof, Pharmacology and Pathology in second prof and in third prof you have very important subjects like Gynecology, Pediatric surgery, ENT. All the lectures are designed by experienced faculty. So if the patient load in your hospital is less and your clinical knowledge is not good then you can also attend clinical classes here. So it is a one stop solution for all your modern medical doubts. If you have any other queries then you can find the helpline number in the description

5:33 box. I will get it and along with that you will get the app link from where you can download the app the next thing is the language barrier which you will have to face from the beginning and you are going to face this for 55 years it is not that Sanskrit is only there in the first year the terminology of Hindi will definitely trouble you so if you are unable to pronounce it then it's better to ask someone a many times it happens to me I am in the final year still yesterday I was unable to read a shloka so I asked my senior that ma'am how do you pronounce it so it's very normal here you can go and ask anyone that ma'am how do you pronounce it because many times you are not able to break the shloka properly so this happens start making your own mnemonics mnemonics work a lot some shlokas are of four lines so you start with P then S then

6:19 V so you do PSV and you make one If you make a mnemonic then it will work. Yes, right now it will seem useless to you, but when you go and sit for the exam, then you will understand that you forget the beginning of the shlokas. This happens with everyone, that we read here very well but there is a lot to write there, and then the memory does n't work well, so it happens that you forget the beginning, then you will remember your mnemonic. Learn to see the meanings, that is, yes, read a line and then see its meaning, what is the meaning. Every book with translation is available here, so it is not that you have to read only Sanskrit, see in the translation what they are trying to say, if you are finding grammar a little difficult, then you can join my classes. I am taking classes on Veda for you, so if you are finding Sanskrit difficult and you want to study the basics well, if you want to

7:05 learn Sanskrit in an easy way, then you can join my classes, you will get a lot of help and one more thing, I have done my 4 years I have realized in the journey that staying motivated helps you a lot. You have to stay motivated by yourself. No one helps you initially here, so it is better that you start staying motivated by yourself. And if you have accepted BMS and now you have thought that I will start a new journey here, then please unsubscribe all the channels that give you motivation for NEET, they say that you can try it one more time, if you have already dropped five marks, you can take six. I have seen some channels that even if you get 550 or less than 550 marks, even if you have 500 marks and you have had three or four drops, still they keep motivating you that you will get 650 next year, but the truth of those videos is

7:53 something else, so it is better that you decide for yourself what is right for you at this point of time and what is not right. One last thing that I felt here There is lack of guidance. I have faced this a lot in the first and second year that you do not have a good interaction with seniors and we remain afraid of seniors, we do not ask anything and it will happen that you will not get guidance and you will realise somewhere in the third year that I had to study this subject like this, Pharma was so important, I did not study it and I had to develop the concepts of physiology, physiology is useful everywhere but all those things happen, I also realise many times in the final year that some subjects which I had ignored, I should not have done, which are useful now, so I will tell you that even if someone scolds you, then

8:39 sideline that thing right there, if any senior is useful to you or can help you, then please take help from them, if you also need help from me, then I will try to reply to you, send me your entire problem by DM, if you are genuinely facing any problem You are doing your BMS journey and if I have to help you in my domain then I will definitely do it so that was all about the video hope you like this one and I have already made many videos related to BMS first year my next video is coming about salary, we will find out about the salary of all the jobs, that if you do this job and become a medical officer, then what will be the salary and there will be other jobs, we will decode the salary and will also see their screenshots that how much salary is actually given in central government jobs, state government

9:25 jobs and private jobs, we will see everything so definitely wait for that video, so please do not forget to subscribe and give your good reviews in the comment section, bye bye
