YouTube Timestamp Link Generator

Share a YouTube video that starts at the exact moment you want. Paste the link, type the time, and copy your timestamp link.

Time can be 83, 1:23, 1:02:03 or 1h2m3s. Free, works in your browser.

How it works

  1. 1

    Paste the video link

Any YouTube link works: watch pages, youtu.be, Shorts and live replays.

  2. 2

    Enter the start time

    Type it as 1:23, 1:02:03, 83 (seconds) or 1h2m3s.

  3. 3

    Copy and share

Copy the short youtu.be link or the full link and paste it anywhere.

How YouTube timestamp links work

A timestamp link is a normal YouTube link with a start time added to the end. For a youtu.be link it's ?t=83, and for a full link it's &t=83s, where 83 is the number of seconds from the start. When someone opens the link, the video starts playing at that point.

You can also write the time as minutes and seconds, like t=1m23s. Both forms open the same moment.

Other ways to share a video at a specific time

  • On a computer: pause the video, right-click it and choose “Copy video URL at current time”.
  • On a computer: click Share under the video, tick “Start at”, and copy the link.
  • In a comment or description: type the time as 1:23. YouTube turns it into a clickable link to that moment.
  • In the YouTube mobile app there's no “Start at” option, so this generator is the quickest way on a phone.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a YouTube link start at a certain time?⌄

Add the start time to the end of the link: ?t=83 for a youtu.be link or &t=83s for a youtube.com link, where 83 is the number of seconds. This tool does it for you: paste the link, type the time and copy the result.

How do I send a YouTube link with a timestamp on my phone?⌄

The YouTube app doesn't have a “Start at” option. Copy the video link from Share, paste it into this generator with the time, and send the new link.

Does the timestamp work for YouTube Shorts?⌄

Shorts links are converted to normal video links, which accept a start time. Most Shorts are short enough that a start time is rarely needed.

What time formats can I use?⌄

Seconds (83), minutes and seconds (1:23), hours (1:02:03), or the YouTube style 1h2m3s.

How do I add clickable timestamps to a YouTube comment?⌄

Type the time in the comment, like 4:15. YouTube turns it into a link that jumps to that moment in the video.
