00 Namaskarum. Today we're going to talk about the one of the systems of the 12 systems of the body, the intermediary system. Heels together, big toes together, palms together. You already know what to do. Lift your inner arch up. Lift your sternum up. Open your shoulder wide. Arms together. Pull up to the sky. Draw the arms to the sky. Draw the energy down to your crown mata. Third eye center pitha. Throat center guru and heart center dam. Left leg forward. Sit back. Connect to
46 earth. Three salutes. Om bour ba. Suba. the physical world, the energy world, and the causal world. Palms together. Inhale and exhale. Inhale at the heart center. Exhale at the back. Reni Moon and the gaze is in the front of the your space.
34 It By the moon, by the n, by the name, by the nail, Keep going. The intermediatory system is nothing but it represents the skin, the
19 nails, the hair, the sweat glands, the oil glands and all the pores. Everything that is responsible for receiving information through the skin that's what is the intermediary system. Now a healthy body will have a healthy skin. A broken skin is an indication or an unhealthy skin is an indication of an unhealthy body from the inside. The skin is a doorway of information. This doorway of information
07 is between the external world and the internal world. So if you're not happy with the environment that you're in, naturally the skin will showcase that. If you're not happy with your internal environment, it will showcase that. It's the boundary between you and the world. That's what the skin is. That's your primary boundary, your physical boundary between the outside and the inside. So, it is very important to look after that skin to make sure it's hydrated, make sure it's got adequate amount of sun, not having too much sun exposure, making
53 sure it has enough proteins, enough micronutrients, enough vitamins, enough moisture in terms of hydration, not just hydration, but also oils. So something like abayanga that is a twice a week practice or once a week practice it's an oil bath in the healing warrior tribe is a very important part of integration of how that body can be healthier body attending to that intermigatory system hair skin attending to the nails the uh lymphatic system glands that's that that's accessible through the outside is all very important to attend
40 to the health of the intermediatory system. Now the physical aspects of it movement plays a key part right here for your arms. Inhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale.
25 So the bi biological aspect of the skin helps us prevention from disease, viruses. A clean skin, a healthy skin will protect your immune system by being the first line of defense from the external environment. any pathogens from the external, parasites from the external environment that you're not eating or injecting into yourself through air, water, food, etc. However, give me a second. Stop this.
15 moon. So movement is a key aspect of keeping the skin healthy. Very important to have movement. Not just moving in terms of walking, running, going to the gym, but breath work, movement and meditation becomes an integral part of this system. Hence mayam and kalik the ancient traditional warrior arts. The ancestors had integrated all of these systems to attend to the whole body, the mind leading into the doorway of the spirit. The incorporation or the understanding
01 of that system of the body helps us to understand the system of how the mind works as well. Now turning into the mind part of the body mind part of this system. Imagine this is your boundary which it which it is of your selves. By slowing down and calming your system to understand the feel what you actually feel through the skin gives you a simpler and a more harmonious nervous system. So it's not working out of projection and assumptions. It is actually working
48 out of the actual what's actually happening outside by feeling it through the boundaries of our wall. A bit like a kingdom with a castle wall like the great wall of China was built for that reason that purpose to keep the enemies out to keep the pathogens the parasites the bad energy people out or things out right so same way the skin is our great wall of human to keep the parasites out the pathogens out the energy that does not require does not serve out. So physically there's the viral and bacterial infection but then
34 energetically there is the lower emotions or the emotions of greed and guilt and jealousy and comparison and all of this. This keeps that out energetically only if we are aware of what this is for. This shield is for 10 more. Today we'll do a practice that enhances the awareness of the skin of this system.
19 How to improve this system from a meditative perspective. Clearly we are doing movement. Clearly inhalation, exhalation, we incorporated breath into our movement. The meditative side is in the awareness of why we doing what we do. Inhaling exhale inhaling exhaling. Inhale here, exhale. And the leg goes back. All of the 12 systems are interconnected
04 with each other. They coincide and cooperate with each other. And skin being the most external barrier, the fortress of your body becomes the first system of defense and hence it becomes the most important system to become aware of to take care of. If this skin gets compromised,
49 it becomes easier for the body to fall sick. Some of the representation of an a skin a broken skin [snorts] is irritable. the emotions of irritation, irritable, burning sensation, itchy and all of that is a sign of a unhealthy skin which is nothing but a broken skin. It can be repaired just by becoming aware and giving it what it needs, studying about it, learning about it.
39 All right. Now, we're going to integrate the first movement and the second movement together. Inhale here. Exhale here. Inhale here. Exhale here. Inhale here. Exhale here. Inhale here. Exhale here. I'll turn around and do the same thing. Inhale here. Exhale here. So all of this is opening. My hand is still in the front. So it's a right angle, but my body is opening up like that. So take it easy on your front knee until it warms up. Take it easy so that you don't twist your knee. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
29 Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Anji. With this in mind, now tap into your own wisdom and own intelligence of the body and start thinking about the health of your skin. The health of your nails. communicate a lot. If you got white lines on your nail that is uh deficiency of calcium, bone health is compromised. So the nails are communicating hair if you're compromised broken hair or lots of excessive unwanted hair fall uh for a younger person. Um because hair is this is all protein. Kerotene is a type of
14 protein. This has a lot of vitamin E in it. So excess storage of vitamin E is in the hair. Protein is in the hair in the form of keratene. Right? So when the body needs protein, it'll use up the protein. Each hair is like a while. So it'll use up the protein from the hair and then when that protein is empty, is finished is when it turns gray and it falls off or it just falls off. It doesn't even have to turn gray. So excessive hair fall uh irregular, broken hair, hair health is no good. It is showcasing
00 that the intermigratory system is compromising. So then we need to pay attention to that system not just on its own but also seeing it at a holistic level. It We'll put the end
53 Nap nati moon natal nap end it napi. Okay, we were here. We were doing this. That's the first movement. The second
40 movement was this. The third movement that we're trying to incorporate is inhale, turn around, exhale. Inhale, turn around, exhale. Inhale in the center. Second third. Inhale, turn around. Exhale. Inhale, turn around. It'll happen. Just think about the first moment, the second moment. So, inhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale.
31 Inhale and exhale. On the next one, inhale and exhale. Here I'm here, right? feet pointing you, hand pointing you, hand pointing on the other side. I'm turning around and then I'm coming back the same way. But try not to move your hands together. The hands are moving separate. So step one, step two, and step three separate. Try not to combine the arms together. So, just the way the footwork is going, let's work on the footwork first.
18 Yeah. Let's work on the footwork first. Okay. [sighs] Center yourself. Ground yourself. Don't worry. Don't panic. I've got you. You got this. Inhale where you stand and watch your movement in your mind. Exhale. The leg goes back. On the next one, inhale. We're going here. Exhale. You're coming back in the same movement. Facing the front of the room this way. And then leg comes back. [sighs and gasps] Inhale here. Leg goes back.
06 and then turning around then coming back. Right, we're going to do 10 of these only rainy moon. N
52 I Sorry. Hey 80. Oh boy.
40 >> [snorts] >> But and the last next one is with the arms. So take a moment to think about how it's going to be with the arms before you start moving. So see the visualize the movement, see the movement in your head. and then move so that you can sync with the movement internally. So then the external is just a showcase of that movement. The same thing is happening with each of the systems. The internal health is the external health. If we allow the external environment to become the internal environment, then you need to change the environment that you're
25 in. You can't be in an environment that is a threat to you, an abusive environment, a uh a place where it's high stress, high chaos, high whatever else is going on, right? When was the last time you attended to your skin? That's the question I have for you. When was the last time you attended to your skin? When was the last time you took care of your nails the way you take care of your loved ones? When was the last time you took care of your hair? When was the last time you hydrated with joy that your sweat does not smell? If
11 your sweat is smelling of toxins, which means not enough hydration, all the built-up toxins is excreting, which is a good thing. But by having the filtration system work smoothly and having clear water coming out where it doesn't smell, that's a good that's a good system. That's a good skin system, skin management system. Okay, think about these things because at the healing warrior tribe, we take time to attend to the intermediary system which is looking after the skin, looking after the hair, looking after the nails as a yogic practice, a traditional ancient yogic practice of abayanga, a specific form which not many people
59 know. There's there's stuff on the internet, but it's not that. There's more to it. So this practice keeps you this system healthy and vibrant. All right, getting back into the movement. So namaskcara mudra. Inhale, arms go out. Exhale on clap here. Arms come out. Clap here. Inhale. Exhale. Clap. Inhale. Exhale. Clap. Moon. Nali.
59 It pani whatever happened to my mat. If that's happening for you with your yoga mat or whatever you're standing on, just put it aside because makes it easier to make that twisting turn this. So your arms are like that. So if I show you a different angle of the movement, say I'm doing it this way. [snorts]
46 I'm going all the way closing clapping. I'm like a bird stands and both my wings are wide open. One is right angle, the other one is right angle. And then I'm coming clap. I'm going to change directions. Not to confuse you, but not to confuse myself.
50 I moonal with the angiat. Riv. Okay, we'll take a break here. Arms, shoulders, scapula, all of this will be burning and singing. And that's a beautiful part because you are igniting the heat in the body responding to the skin responding to that inner layer. Now there is two types of skin. There's the internal skin and the external skin.
36 Just like this is the boundary and the barrier of the body. There's the internal skin which is the fascia which is the information. Your memory your information intellect your mind travels through the fascia. That's how we receive information to the body to know what to do, how to respond and all of those type of things. And then the outer boundary is the skin. So the internal boundary is the fascia. The outer external boundary is the skin. The health of both these are important because the external will represent the internal fascia. The internal fascia will represent the external communication of the skin. They responsible for receiving information. And when you walk into a room and you wonder like you know someone's talking about you or something has been said or
23 something doesn't vibe right feel right the energy is off is because this is responding to that. It's able to receive information through the molecules of air particles that's present in and is able to transmute and transmit that information to your brain to understand that something is off and then the mind becomes aware that it starts to read that information. All of this is happening really quickly. It's not something that we can um decode to because that's the innate intelligence of that body, mind and the spirit. So by attending to it, we're improving and increasing that intelligence of that body, mind, and spirit. It's all not just studying it as a theory, but putting it into practice. But nothing
08 that you put in practice of what you study is pointless. It's useless. It's just the ego collecting information and knowledge to say I know but it does not really know how to put it in practice. The one who puts it in practice one is experiencing that practice is the one that is actually understanding the depth of the practice the depth of that intelligence the wisdom the meaning of it the being itself. All right. Um here we are going to grab our kalakates. Left leg forward.
54 Arms to sky. Look up. Draw the energy to your crown. Mata. Third eye center. Pa throat center. Guru heart center connecting to your come back. Inhale and exhale and exhale. for the moon. Pee the moon. Pal.
55 Empathy endat. Okay. Inhale and exhale. So let's try to integrate. So this is going to be a movement that's going to be your switching movement. Okay. So we'll do a few of these to get that into
42 the muscular memory, cellular memory only. Inhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale. Exhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale. And exhale.
29 And slowly preparing your mind to think about what would it be to intersect the new movement of May pardan into kalak. Inhaling and then exhaling. Inhale change. Change hands. Leg goes back. Arm follows the leg. And then bring it back. Rendali
20 are a I'll show you the opposite way as well. Don't be worry. Don't be in a rush. It's okay. I understand what it feels like when you don't get a movement and it's um confusing. I'll show the opposite side as well. You can always pause the video and try again. Okay. Inhale here. Exhale here. Inhale. Club comes to the center. Exhale. Club goes to the back. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale and exhale. Inhale.
05 Exhale. Inhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale. I'll turn forward now. Must have done about 20. So, we'll continue on. We'll try to finish 108 of these and that'll be all for the day today. with the ir. Now the question might arise what is a healthy skin? How does this healthy skin
52 feel like look like? Because we if we don't know what a healthy skin is supposed to look and feel like, then how are we supposed to accomplish that health of that skin? A healthy skin is a smooth soft skin, an unbroken skin. That's the start. A healthy skin doesn't look or feel dry. It's hydrated well. It's moisturized well. It's better to be moisturizing with healthier oils that are friendly to your type of skin because there are different types of skin
38 than using chemical moisturizers with steroids in them. Because temporarily they might fix the problem, but on the long run you're actually becoming dependent on that chemical compound. Mati moon and mati are
24 mupati mupati it mati. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Napali nap and nap. Napi
25 reni moonali and AI arriv The honey
18 arriv And yet you want me to teach [laughter] A friend walked past and totally distract me of my movement. Okay.
09 with the elon on the embarrass. Okay. The same maya movement is following.
54 Okay. Inhale. Exhale. That's all I've done. Then inhale. Exhale. Change hand here. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Empathy. Empathy. Don't hon.
53 If all of this is confusing, don't worry too much. Just do the part that feels you're comfortable with and then slowly slowly it'll integrate in its own time. I'm going to do the same movement on the opposite side so you feel like you have resource to understand it. Okay. Sorry. Inhale. Exhale. No, that's not the moment. Inhale, exhale, turn. Inhale,
39 exhale. Inhale exhale turn. Inhale exhale. Inhale, exhale, turn. Inhale, exhale. Remember I'm facing the back. So if I'm facing the back, you need to face the same direction as me. Just so that you have this pect perception of the movement so it's easier to come in. I'll finish the rest of the movements in this direction.
33 Nutri >> [snorts] >> Nali narod [snorts] already gone past. Okay.
20 All right. It's a good beautiful movement. A very interesting intricate dance. A simple basic form of many complex movements that we can do. But in this basic form itself, there's lots of complexities, right leg forward. The only way we can achieve these movements is by practice coming together with it. Leaving that mind outside and being present inside. Arms together. Thank ma pa guru dam. Connect your kalak ba and place your kalak's back. Healthy skin, healthy hair, healthy
07 nails. Your hair shouldn't be broken. Should be healthy, vibrant, hydrated. Your nails shouldn't be broken, chipped, weak, cracked. It should be vibrant and healthy. Your nails show your health, your bone health. Because your nails are nothing but an extension of your skeletal system. Then your skin, clean, smooth, soft, unbroken skin. Soft and hard is dependent depends on the skin type. But overall, even a person with a hard skin should feel smooth. That's what soft skin means or smooth skin means. Okay? Shouldn't be cracked, shouldn't be um itchy, scabby, all of these things. So,
53 focus on making that yours. Take ownership of your boundary of this system that takes care. We're going to do a quick meditation about how we can attend to the intermediary system and how the intermediary system also work as a a a sense of observation to fall into meditation. All right. Let me set up my mat quickly. [snorts] You can do this standing or sitting. I will start by showing it as a standing movement or standing exercise. So you can stand in a a beach, park, ocean just outside your office in nature or in a busy place. It doesn't matter where you're standing as long as you're
39 standing. Remember this posture, the the middle finger pushing pulling into your sternum, lifting your sternum up, moving over, opening relaxing your shoulder. Once you come to this place, loosen up your knees and just stand. Your only focus in observation is your skin. Feel the breeze.
24 Touch your skin. Become aware of the breeze, of the wind, of the air touching your skin. Feel the communication of your environment. The temperature, the warmth, the cold, the humidity.
13 Just by observing your skin, notice that your breath falls into rhythm. It naturally breathes deep, breathes calm, and naturally falls into that relaxed state of being. If you're able to observe this, observe
59 the nervous system. See how they have suddenly become calm. and starting to feel relaxed. If you're able to experience this calmness, that's because of the nervous system falling into a relaxed, stress-free state, which allows the mind to also calm down
48 and become more present. Now gently moving from here into a shavasana with awareness of the focus and observation on the skin. We're going to drop down into a lying down observation.
55 On the next breath, take a deep inhalation. Arms above your head. Stretch your arms. [sighs] Arms to sky. Feet to sky. Roll up and come up. Palms to sky. Draw the energy to your crown. Mata pa guru dam. Connect to earth.
42 Share the energy and send healing to all beings of your world. Only keep what you need. Three salutes. Om bour ba suba hri namaskar. The skin meditation, try to attempt it for five minutes. Set a timer on your phone or alarm for five minutes. Sit, stand. Standing is more you're able to feel more on your skin. And open up that energy center, the
28 communication centers of the skin to see and experience this. And I want to know what you experience and how that felt for you. I haven't really heard many people talk about skin meditation. So there you go. Nandri namaskarum.
