17:12 put your hopes down a little bit but you know how long we've done this in assyrian it's a 22 chapter book consists of 22 chapters and it took us just over two years to do a commentary on the book of revelation once a week about an hour an hour and a bit so today we're going to start and hopefully after two years we'll say thank you lord jesus for your kindness and mercy and your patience when we thank you our heavenly father for your love and the holy spirit for your wisdom and guidance into the inside of the holy scriptures today actually happened to be the feast of pentecost according to the old julian calendar so for those christians worldwide who

17:59 celebrated the feast of pentecost well happy pentecost feast and may the lord jesus bless you all wherever you are and whoever you are pentecost means 50th and it actually resembles the birth of the church of christ in the new testament it was 50 days after the lord's resurrection there was 120 people gathered in this upper room and the holy spirit descended on them as tongues of fire tongues of fire and descended on the 120 people uh the number one person out of the 120 happened to be the holy mother mary the mother of our lord our god our savior our redeemer jesus christ

18:44 so they were there and the holy spirit descended on them and they started speaking different languages that also resembled the birth of the church of christ in the new testament so book of revelation we're going to start with chapter one and we're going to read from verses one to three inclusive here we go and i'll see you after two e's for the conclusion of this chapter the the revelation of jesus christ which god gave him to show his servants things which must shortly take place and he send and signified it by his angel to his servant john who bore witness to the word of god and to the testimony of jesus christ

19:32 to all things that he saw blessed is he who reads and those who heed the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written in it for the time is near and all glory be to our lord and savior jesus christ forever and ever and evermore amen three verses chapter one of revelation verses one two three it begins with the following the revelation of jesus christ but before i go into that i'd like to say a very brief introduction about the whole holy bible

20:17 we can divide the entire holy bible both in its old and testament portions into four parts four parts of the old testament or the old testament divided into four parts and equivalent to it the new testament divided into four parts the first part is the book of the law torah or the book of moses genesis exodus leviticus numbers and deuteronomy this is the first part of the old testament what is equivalent or in line with it in the new testament are the four gospels matthew mark luke and john the second part

21:02 you have the historical books we have the law the torah and then the historical books like first and second chronicles these are the old testament um the historical book equivalent to it in the new testament is the book of acts this is the historical book of the new testament the third part are the poetic books the poetic books of the old testament they start with the book of job book of psalms and then proverbs ecclesiastes and song of solomon they are five poetic books equivalent to it in the new testament are the epistles saint paul saint james saint peter saint john and saint jude these epistles

21:50 are called the epistles of teachings they teach you about christianity so the poetic book in the old testament equivalent to him the epistles of saint paul and the other um uh and the other and the other apostles as well and then we have the fourth part of the old testament which is the prophetic books beginning with the prophecy of isaiah ending with the prophecy of malachi or maliki so these are the prophets and in the new testament we have one prophetic book which is the topic of this evening the book of revelation the book of revelation is a prophetic symbolic book of the new testament

22:39 now when we come to the book of revelation we can divide it into three sections the first section takes up chapter one and then the second section is chapter two and three together and then from chapter four till the end of the book of revelation chapter 22 is the third section the first section chapter one is an introduction to the book of revelation chapter 2 and 3 is the church history in the prophetic sense is the church history and the prophetic sins and then chapter 4 to 22 talks about the great tribulation and then the wrath of god coming down on

23:27 the entire globe and on the entire human race and then these that the wrath of god is actually revealed in one seals two trumpets and three bowls seal represent authentication trumpet represents warnings and balls represent the judgment passed on to the human race now the book of revelation begins with these words the revelation of jesus christ so whose book is this jesus christ himself

24:13 and the word revelation we can give it another name proclamation to reveal something to proclaim something and whatever you're revealing and whatever you are proclaiming you are giving information if we look at our time and age the 21st century i do not believe that there has been a time in the history of mankind where information has been so easily accessible than the 21st century all the centuries gone by nowhere near what the 21st century has achieved in a very short time as far as making everything possible

24:58 at a fingertip at a press of a button you go on the internet social media platforms you can read about anything you can find out and discover about anyone anywhere any place anytime with a press of a button it is so easily accessible and the 21st century is so profoundly known to bombard the human race with revelation information but there is a revelation and another revelation the world is trying to reveal to you a lot of things

25:45 and what the world is trying to reveal i'm not gonna say all of it but i'll say with confidence most of it is poisonous and jesus christ god revealed in the flesh he also came to give his own revelation his own information to his own children those who believe in him and those who trust in him and follow him the revelation of jesus christ when we look at the garden of eden what made the human race fall was

26:32 knowledge revelation information knowledge the lord god created adam and placed him in the garden of eden and he said to adam there is one tree to cut it short there is one tree you are forbidden from eating from it the day that comes that you eat from that tree surely you shall die and that tree was the knowledge of good and evil knowledge is revelation is information adam decided to break god's word and eat from the forbidden tree and when the moment that came when he ate from the tree adam died forever meaning

27:19 he got separated from his creator forever and they got kicked out from the garden of eden today i see the 21st century as going back to that full cycle all the way to the garden of eden we are living at a time and age where we are eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and that tree of the knowledge of good and evil is me and you we are that tree we are that tree in other words we are doing things our way not god's like adam decided in the garden of eden to do it his way not god's way

28:04 the 21st century is becoming more and more of a godless generation they're saying we are god on earth i'll do whatever i please but the lord is coming in the end of times and he's given us this revelation of his and called the book of revelation to say to his own children those who are true christians those who are true followers of the lord those who were called to be to be sons of god the baptized souls jesus is revealing to them his own revelation his own information

28:50 his own knowledge and he's telling them what jesus will do to the world and the end of times what he was going to do this book is jesus christ himself which god gave him so who gave the book to jesus christ god what is the book of revelation we said from chapter 4 to 22 till the end of the book it talks about the judgment on mankind who are disobedient to the almighty god judgment passed on to mankind so it is a book of

29:37 judgment and also it is the second coming of the messiah which is judgment day so since it's a judgment book god gave this book to jesus christ why because when we read in the holy bible we see that god will not judge no human being but rather he gave the judgment to the son when we read in the gospel of john chapter 5 verse 22 it says for the father judges no one but has committed all judgment to the son not the son of god but the son of man

30:22 god the father will judge no one but he has committed all judgment to the son of man why god as god were to judge the human race judgment would not have been fair because for god to come and judge a piece of dust am i new piece of dust so weak i'll have a case in the courthouse i'll say god you can't judge me it's not fair there is no comparison between you and me and me and you you're too powerful i'm too weak you're too elevated i'm too low you are all wisdom i am all ignorance

31:09 you are all light and i'm all darkness you can't judge me god i cannot simply be like you it is not a fair judgment but the judgment he gave it to the son of man jesus christ became a human being like us under the law he was tempted like all of us when he went out to the wilderness you read that in the gospel of matthew chapter four and even luke chapter four and chapter one in mark when he went out in the wilderness and he fasted for 40 days and 40 nights the tempter came and put him to the trial the lust the lust of the body and

32:42 my life every single day i was sleeping to an empty stomach god it's that financial struggle that was a hindrance for me to come to you jesus will say no one was poorer than me they asked me when i was in the temple of the lord of god the temple of solomon they asked me do we give tax to caesar or not i asked for a dinari i asked for a dollar why because i simply did not have even one dollar in my pocket i was this broke i didn't have a penny in my pocket so you talk about poorness

33:28 no one is poorer than jesus christ i had only one shirt i did not have two even homeless people have more than one shirt jesus had only one there was no one ridiculed rejected persecuted like jesus christ if you say people went against me that's why i was disheartened i was heartbroken because people hated me despised me and ridiculed me and that's why god i couldn't follow in your footprints because of people around me were so judgmental and so mean and cruel to me jesus will say i had the whole world going against me

34:15 it wasn't just the next door neighbor i had kings and high priests all putting a plot to get rid of me wherever i want at government levels i faced persecutions king herod came all the way after me to egypt to kill me no one was persecuted more than jesus christ no one suffered more than jesus christ when it comes to the lord we don't have an excuse as humans because he became a human like us that's why it is only fair for the son of man to judge the whole world because

35:03 it's a fair case he became a human under the law and open to trials and temptations like any human beings that's why god gave this book of judgment revelation to the son of man of the son of god son of god is god but to the son of man jesus of nazareth and then the lord jesus he was to show it to his servants who are his servants his servants are his children are his sons who are the sons every baptized

35:50 soul is the child of god but why in here he is referring to those baptized souls who became through holy baptism as children to god why is he referring to them as servants rather than not sons for one reason and a very very profound reason you see when it comes to jesus christ our relationship with him our connection with him is based on love he is daddy and we are his children he is the father and i am his son i am the son and he is my daddy this relationship

36:35 is built on love because if there is no love between the father and the son i just wonder what kind of a relationship is it since there is love then i come and see what this daddy has done for me he is my father and he is worthy of every service i provide for him and every sir every worship i give to him but this father humbled himself and gave all the service to every child of his in that return of love the son has to give back that love and serve his dad as well a son as a son only

37:24 is precious in the eyes of his dad but when the son comes back and serves his dad and becomes the servant of his dad then the son is much more precious than just a son when he becomes a servant dad i love you just like you served me i'm coming today bowing before you and i'm asking you allow me lord through your grace and mercy to serve you as your own son when the son serves the father the son now is much more precious in the eyes of the father than just being a son and son only you see when you're a son and you don't

38:09 respect that and you don't work for that and you don't support that and you don't value that dad will still love you because you are his son but how much more dad will appreciate you when you come and say dad what would you like your son to do for you here when i've asked my dad what would you like me to do for you i have become the servant in here i've given a much greater place for my position son being a servant so and this servantry as a son is greater than being just a son only i hope you're following me

42:06 the angel coming into play in the new testament you read the entire four gospels matthew mark luke and john you read the book of acts actually in the book of acts you see an angel coming there as well but you read in the epistles of saint paul you read in the epistle saying james peter john and jude there is no mention of angel the author of the book the writer of the book is the holy spirit and all of them the gospels book of acts the epistles all of them the author is the holy spirit book of revelation it says the angel brought it

44:25 this parable so he is explaining the parable to his apostles he said the field is the world the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom but the tares or the bad seeds or the weed are the sons of the wicked one the sons of satan verse 39 the enemy who sowed them is the devil the harvest is the end of the age and the reapers are the angels so who's gonna be involved on judgment day angels not god the son of man and the angels will reap what the son of man is gonna say so

45:11 the son of man will pass the judgment the angels will execute the judgment you know when in court when the judge hits the hammer and he says i i hereby sentence you to five years imprisonment and he slams the hammer the judge passed the judgment there are some officers standing in the courtroom they go and grab that guy and cuff him or cuff her and take them away so the angels are those officers the judge is jesus christ and the angels are the offices awaiting the judge ruling secondly why

52:58 christ so the testimony of jesus christ he is referring to the epistles and the word of god referring to the gospel from this we know that this john is no one but john the beloved the gospel writer the epistles and the revelation one of the twelve disciples or apostles of jesus christ he bore witness and he and a testimony of jesus christ to all things that he saw verse 3 blessed is he who reads and those who he the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written in it

56:11 follow what is written here you'll receive the ultimate blessings when we see someone driving a ferrari or a lamborghini we don't use it in a formal kind of way but in a slang way we say man this guy is so lucky really that word lucky we're really trying to say how blessed is this guy that is driving a ferrari and a lamborghini when we see somebody living in a mansion we say wow how blessed are they why we say they bless it because look what they have what they have gives them whatever they want
