I just wanted to share that with you because I don't know if it's like this in your part of the world. They keep telling you about how you need to batten down, do this emergency grab bag, wind up radio. You kind of think, what are we living in? You know what I mean? It's like, what are we living in here? What's happening to our world? You know, I tell you what's interesting as well on this particular story because uh there's been lots of chatter, lots of people getting in touch on social media asking me what do I know about this latest Marle revelation bombshell, whatever you want to call it. And what's interesting about this particular story to me is, you know, as I often say here to you on our
0:46 show, the thing is it's very quick to jump on air and oh, you know, this has happened. That's really what the sort of breaking news is, isn't it? You know, they tell you a line, whether it's be on the news at 1:00 on the radio and you think, right, so taxes are going up and then when you dig a little bit deeper, that might not be until period, but they want to sensationalize everything. Now, I'm not decrying this story. I think it's appalling these alleged, you know, things against Thomas Markle. Of course, it's appalling. But again, these are alleged right at this particular point. And what's interesting about this story for me is the way that this has now suddenly come very much up to the boil. There's lots of things that you think about it and think well right okay you know how did this suddenly develop so
1:33 quickly. What's interesting about this particular story is it wasn't meant to run in fact until this coming weekend. Right? So suddenly this story pops up late Thursday night UK time in the British tabloid the sun and very quickly we have a very much lengthy thing uh from a friend of Marle right so suddenly we get all of this information from a friend never directly and this is an important point right never directly from Meghan Markle this is always somebody who's just very quick and snappy to get in front of the you know reporter and tell their version of events Of course, as these stories develop, well, as ever, let me explain. 2:19 me on a very wet day here, but you know, nonetheless, we're still here, or hope you're all keeping well, whatever you're doing. Don't worry about all of these dark stories. I know they can seem really depressing and sad, and they are in many respects, but you know, it's the world sort of thing we live in. And as of off often said to you before, the problem with social media is the fact that it really accentuates all the sort of negatives in life. and some of the positives don't get, you know, seen at all. It's a bit like on our channel, we all like sensationalism, but as I often say, if you look at sort of the nostalgia stuff or the fun stuff or even the health stuff, it can sort of stretch your mind a little bit and, you know, make sure that you don't necessarily hear or see all the negatives. It's a little bit, as I say, like this Thomas Markle late Thursday night, this story breaks. Now, what's interesting, there
3:06 are so many problems and areas around this, right? And just to let you understand how this, as I say, opens up. This was meant to run according to my excellent sources this coming weekend. The usual sort of tabloid expose normally on a Sunday. It was a sort of thing we used to see in the news of the world with footballers and models and do you know what I mean? That sort of stuff. It's interesting to note on the very same day that all media were not invited to this which was of course the sitdown with his royal highness the prince of Wales and uh of course you know Prince William on the Graham Norton show and this was a huge booking for the BBC and indeed for Graeme Norton and predominantly it's there to share all the news about the forthcoming earthshot
3:52 and you know now there's a few arguments going on behind the scenes about that is this the right thing to who should William be going down this very easy load path. But nonetheless, as I said, you know, there was no media allowed in. This was cloak and dagger stuff. Good stellar lineup. In fact, uh, you know, when you think about it, Hannah Wingham and, you know, various others who were there to support William and he comes across very well. If you've seen the clips, you'll see exactly what I mean. I don't know how he couldn't come across well. He's just very affable and great fun. That's all down to Katherine in my book. But back to Thomas Markle, as I say, this was going to be the big story. You know, Prince William chat show BBC around the world. This was it. Suddenly, we have this breaking. Here's where I
4:39 think this is really going to be problematic for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. And also, this didn't really take too long to fall apart, did it? Because in a statement recently that Meghan Markle's friend put out there, apparently according to this statement, Meghan Markle was aware of a letter that was shown to her that was then subsequently sent to the Metropolitan Police in London. Now, at the time of recording this, the Metropolitan Police have hit back and said they were not aware of any particular letter sent to them, and now they're investigating as to whether it was not passed forward or from the royalty protection, whatever. But ultimately again a huge glib what a lot of people will underline on this particular thing and correct me if I'm
5:24 wrong here but this is exactly what the newspaper that have broken this particular story build her as little miss forgetful because remember at that time she categorically stated that she'd not assisted in the book uh that came out basically slamming the entire royal family and calling them all sorts of stuff and then only have to pressure. Did she remember? Oh, she may have done uh Yeah, she s Yeah, but it really has slipped her mind. Now, what's interesting is, and this is my belief on this, is that the Metropolitan Police, if she saw a letter, and this is where it gets interesting to me, you're telling me that Megan Markle didn't see a letter and thought, I need a copy of
6:10 that. Think about it. It just does not make sense. And this is where, as I say, it becomes very convoluted and I'm not taking sides. But if you'd have seen a letter of that importance and suddenly this is going to be passed to the British Metropolitan Police, why did you not have a copy? Why does your lawyer not have a copy? Why do you not have a copy yourself? Again, as I say, this story is unfolding. There are cracks and it's going to be very difficult moving forward to find and get the real truth. But back to this and this is simply because again there's too much sort of backdrop you know behind the scenes that well exactly what did people know for instance now the burning question this is rumbling over here in the United
6:56 Kingdom is well if this goes back to 2018 which according again I have to say allegedly to those reports you know because there's a line in the piece from the sun where a very ten line in fact right chs where it basically says Well, now people might understand exactly the difficulties that Megan had regarding her father. Well, no, we never understood the difficulties because you've never discussed them. We were led to believe that you ostracized him, cut him off simply because he'd, you know, fallen foul of the tabloid era or whatever you want to call it. Here's where it also gets interesting because when you think about it, allegedly Thomas Markl Jr., The Sun contacted the Sun newspaper to apparently let them
7:42 know what he'd discovered. Again, I have to say, allegedly, and there's all sorts of scoldery behind the scenes of um you know, what did he know? Was he running short of money? Did he find out that he was cut off? Remember, and this is the important point again, and this is what I tell you about being careful about on our show, what I share with you. You have to remember Thomas Markle upsticks and moved all the way over to the Philippines. Right? So now he's gone halfway around the world, his equipment, etc. is an 80 odd year old man. I'm not saying there is no blame, but you understand. Think about us. If we were moving now, you know, where is your equipment? Who's looking at it? Is he on the internet? All of this will come out in time. I mean, it really will come out
8:27 in time. My only fear is that as an 80 odd year old man who's had terrible health and you know heart problems and all sorts of stuff really you know will the truth ever be found out? You get what I'm saying? The other side of the coin is Harry if you remember during the Netflix 2022 thing he talked about a very similar story uh that Meghan Markle reiterated in her version of chats with the cut. And if you remember with the cut, she talked about how Harry had lost her, you know, his father, the king, and all of that. And as I've often said, no, he was very much there. You just decided to cut him off. Harry reiterates a very similar thing about how if it wasn't for him that Megan still would have had her

Because if Megan still would have had her father, he's very much going down the line of because she married him, that's really what broke the relationship. The tabloid intrusion, the invasion of privacy, all of those things going wrong. You get the picture. Somebody somewhere is not being very clear. Clarity is very muddy at the time of recording this. And what I would say, and this is the problem that you now have in a situation like this, is this maybe never really be fully found. It's going to be a very difficult situation. As I said, what's going to be interesting is if this was all the way back in 2018. And you know, if you remember, the queen famously said, "Do

Because that's now going to be the next question, right? What did they know? And I'm not saying this is right or wrong. But as I said to you at the start, this story miraculously blew up out of nowhere when it was planned and pushed through legal very quickly on Wednesday afternoon. I know exactly what's going on in these companies. and they pushed it through very quickly and suddenly when Williams now launching on a big platform you know over here talking about something worthwhile once again a little bit like Harry earlier this week knocked off kilter now it could be
